Dr. Michaela Mocanu, MD – Bryn Mawr, PA

Dr. Mocanu specializes in diagnosing and treating adults with a variety of kidney diseases, complex hypertension cases, and excess weight. She is an American Board Certified Nephrologist (kidney doctor) and an Internal Medicine Specialist. She is licensed to treat patients in Pennsylvania.

Dr. Mocanu has extensive medical training and received her degrees from renowned institutions, including an Internal Medicine Residency at Georgetown University Hospital/ Washington Hospital Center, and a Clinical Nephrology Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. In addition, she is a Certified Hypertension Specialist by the American Hypertension Specialist Certification Program and she completed the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons Course on Obesity: Etiology, Prevention and Treatment 2022.

In 2011, Dr. Mocanu was awarded the AOA Volunteer Clinician Faculty Award by the New York Medical College. In 2015 she was recognized by the Philadelphia County Medical Society Vanitha Appadorai Vaidya, MD Award for "Humaneness in Medicine" for her exceptional skills in working with people and understanding patients' human and clinical needs.
